Rally Across America 2007

Rally Across America 2007 was a 600-mile bike ride to raise money for childhood cancer research on behalf of Rally Foundation. Founders Austin Bauman and Tom Reardon joined new riders on a new route through 5 Southeastern cities: Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Nashville. In each city the team visited a local children’s hospital, and held a fundraiser in honor of a local child fighting cancer. The event was held in September to celebrate National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

If you would like to help with a fundraiser or ride with the team when they come to your city please email claire@rallyfoundation.org! Donate now to help the team meet their fundraising goal and bring hope to the kids they are riding to honor.

Meet Parker

Parker is a little boy filled with spunk, smiles, and a zest for life.
In June of 2006, at the age of 4, Parker was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma. He quickly went from sliding down a waterslide one day to spending the next day in the hospital being told to be ready for the fight of his life. Not only did he have a softball-sized tumor in his abdomen at the time of his diagnosis, he also had cancer in his bones and bone marrow. Parker has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy, surgery to remove the tumor, radiation, and two stem cell transplants. He is now starting localized radiation to his belly, the original site of the tumor. After localized radiation, he will start his accutane therapy, and he will soon find out whether he will be part of a randomized antibody study at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Although the days ahead will be a tough and bumpy ride, Parker has his helmet on and is ready for the long road ahead.

Parker is truly an angel sent from above to teach us all a lesson of wisdom…showing us the courage and strength to move on, fight and persevere through this trying time. One glance of his smile and the twinkle in his eye is enough to light up the room, and through this all, he has remained such a bright shining star.
