Alyssa, my daughter, is doing great with her fundraising! Her girl scout troop sold cookies this past weekend and put a sign for 4 Quarters 4 Research and raised almost $35! They were very excited. Alyssa also kicked off her campaign with her specific troop by handing out baggies – 6 per girl – with 4Q4R stickers on them so that they could collect change for childhood cancer research.
The girls were really excited and are now considering making a donation of the troop cookie proceeds also. Alyssa came back really excited from her bubble gum blowing contest with the Atlanta Braves players at spring training and shared the mission of the foundation with her troop, the girls have decided they want to make a donation to the Rally Foundation.
We also got tickets to watch the Brian McCann and the Braves when they come out to San Francisco in May. As a family we are big baseball people and it was so nice to see Brian’s genuine concern for raising money for pediatric cancer research at the bubble gum contest. As a parent I can only hope that I never have to use that research but want to help the cause for those unfortunate ones that cancer does affect.
