Backstage at a runway show
Ever watch the fashion shows during fashion week and wonder just what goes on backstage at one of those shows? The models always look so polished and put-together when they walk out on the runway, but I am sure that backstage is chaos as models get changed into different looks and prepare to walk the runway.
Though on a much smaller scale then these high-end designer fashion shows, I got the privilege to work with the Rally Kid models at the 2012 Rally On the Runway event this past weekend. Ranging in age from 3 years old to 23 years old, these models all looked fabulous in their designer outfits provided by Bloomingdale’s Lenox Square as they walked the runway. Backstage was not nearly as chaotic as I am sure it is at those Fashion Week fashion shows, and it was actually fun making sure that all of the models were paired with their NFL player escorts and that their clothes fit them just right before walking the runway. Though some outfits needed safety pins and minor adjustments, all of the Rally Kid models looked amazing and had such a great time walking the runway. It was also great to see them bonding with their NFL player escorts before the show and practicing their model walks.
This was my second Rally On the Runway event, and as it was with last year’s event, it was a truly special evening for all that attended. I cannot wait to see all of the pictures from Saturday evening, but in the meantime, make sure to check out some pictures from this year’s Day of Pampering where the Rally Kid models prepped for their runway debut.
Rally On!
